MONASTRELL.

This is the autochthonous variety of Yecla and the Region of Murcia. It is a variety that adapts perfectly to the climate and geography of the area, as it withstands the differences in temperature; summers with high temperatures and long, cold winters.

QUEEN
MONASTRELL
AND HER NOBLE
COURTESANS.

Monastrell is a variety with compact clusters and small, round grapes that is documented as early as the 15th century, although its use in the production of local wines is undoubtedly much older. With its small, round grapes, Monastrell produces fleshy, intensely coloured, complex and aromatic wines. And it is here, in our land, with its special climate and soil conditions, that Monastrell offers its full potential.

This makes us almost unique in the world as we have wines that are absolutely different from the rest of the wine growing areas

VERY PARTICULAR AND PERSONAL WINES.

This variety is known in other areas of the world as Mourvèdre or Mataró. One of the great advantages of the Monastrell grape, apart from being a grape that gives very particular and personal wines, is that it is a variety that is difficult to adapt to other areas in the world other than the Region of Murcia. This makes us almost unique in the world as we have wines that are absolutely different from the rest of the wine growing regions, as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Tempranillo and the rest of the most famous grapes in the world can be found in almost all wine-producing countries. However, anyone who wants a wine made from Monastrell grapes will have to visit our area.

Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet, Tempranillo, Tintorera and Petit Verdot – red wines – and Verdejo, Macabeo and Airén – white wines – are the noble courtiers that accompany the queen Monastrell in our vineyards.
