Barahonda’s cuisine is renowned for its professionalism and good work in the kitchen, winning new awards every year. The restaurant has been awarded a Sun (sol) from the Repsol Guide (Guía Repsol) in the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions, the 2017 Mursiya Mezze Award, two Travellers’ Choice awards -2020 and 2021- from Tripadvisor, and recognition as a recommended restaurant in the Michelin Guide 2022.
Our chef Alejandro began to carve out his future studying at the Escuela de Hostelería Mediterránea in Valencia, doing his internship in two distinguished restaurants: firstly at Maralba (Almansa) and secondly at Finca Susi Díaz (Elche).
After finishing his studies, Alejandro continued his career working at Bistró Guggenheim Bilbao and studying at Azurmendi in Bilbao. For the last 5 years, Alejandro has been a chef at our restaurant Barahonda. When he turns off the cookers in our kitchen, Alejandro uses his free time to do sports and read.
During the summer you can enjoy our pleasant terrace in the hall of the winery. It is a great and more informal alternative to our restaurant for the months of June, July and August. A varied and renewed menu of elaborate tapas, accompanied by our wines, in an idyllic setting surrounded by vineyards with background music, liven up the cool summer nights in Yecla.
“La Despensa” is an audiovisual section consisting of a series of video-recipes cooked by the winery’s team. Audiovisual snippets in which the winery staff, from different departments, is mixed with the kitchen staff.
The intention of the series ‘La Despensa’ is to bring Barahonda’s cuisine closer to the consumer’s home, and thus for them to be able to cook for the family -from home- the same dishes that are made in Barahonda.
Our restaurant offers the opportunity to celebrate all kinds of events. From family meals, weddings and celebrations to conventions and corporate presentations. We have two reserved spaces to enjoy total privacy for meetings and events. We also have the Wine Club; a perfect space for wine tastings, social gatherings and business meetings. In short, at Barahonda we have the ideal place for all kinds of celebrations.
We also hold outdoor events, where you can enjoy the wonderful views offered by the enclave in which we are located.
